Attain Zero was founded with one simple vision: making carbon emission calculations accessible to all businesses, no matter their size or sector. Since our inception, we have worked with numerous businesses across manufacturing, hospitality, and service sectors, calculating their Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. No matter the business, the aim is always the same: provide a clear no-nonsense report with a carbon emission figure that is calculated in a transparent and accurate way so that it can be repeated every year. Then compliment this with pragmatic advice on how customers can reduce their emissions whilst saving money.

Our history
Whilst working for a Westcountry plastic manufacturing SME in 2022, Zoe Sharland was challenged by her MD to calculate the company’s carbon emissions. With the passion and energy she brings to every project, Zoe quickly learned all she could about carbon emission reporting and environmental legislation. She developed her own calculator and reporting template and provided her MD with a full report on the company’s carbon emissions.
However, not being satisfied with only doing half a job, Zoe also developed a carbon reduction plan showing how the company could save money whilst reducing carbon emissions, investigating various reduction initiatives including the use of recycled materials, using “zero to landfill” waste contractors, and scrap reduction. This wide range of knowledge led to Zoe project managing the business’s B Corp accreditation.
Realising the increasing demand for carbon reporting, Zoe founded Attain Zero in 2024 and has since gone on to provide environmental and sustainability services to a broad range of UK companies from railway manufacturing SMEs through to national breweries.
Attain Zero has grown and is now a UK environmental consultancy that specialise in supporting UK businesses and charities to measure and reduce their carbon emissions, no matter their size or sector. Zoe, still very much involved, meets with each of our clients to fully understand their business and their desired outcomes.
